Dear Summerside Families,
It is hard to believe we are entering our last week of school together! Time flies when working hard, learning a lot, and having fun!! We have a LOT to celebrate in all your children have achieved this school year. Look for benchmark assessment reports to come home this week. Yearbooks should be coming home soon too! We have a very limited supply for sale if you forgot to order one. They will be sold on a first-come, first-sold basis. Please email Mrs. Karen Fields if you would like to purchase one, fields_karen@my.westcler.org.
We have a packed week ahead, including our annual Field Day scheduled for Wednesday, May 21st, rain or shine! Our students will embark on a day filled with fun activities, team-building exercises, and plenty of outdoor adventures provided by our incredible PTO!
As part of the festivities, we want to inform you that some activities may involve water play. To ensure your child's comfort and enjoyment throughout the day, you are welcome to send in the following items (with their name on them) with your child if you choose:
Towel: For drying off after water activities.
Change of Clothes: In case their attire gets wet during the day.
Change of Shoes: If necessary, to switch into dry footwear.
Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial, so please send your child with a water bottle labeled with their name.
Sunscreen: As we'll be spending time outdoors, sunscreen application before the event and, if needed, providing them with sunscreen for reapplication during the day is recommended.
All students will be eating a picnic lunch on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. We encourage all to pack their lunches on these days, or they can order lunch from the cafeteria.
We appreciate your support and look forward to the many celebrations ahead!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Mrs. Edwards
Click here to complete the Summerside parent survey. - deadline extended to 5/23/25. Thank you to the 28 families who have completed this so far for Summerside! Our goal is to get to 80 families. Your insight truly guides our action steps for the 25/26 school year!
Leader in Me - Parent Surveys. Our district is implementing a whole-district transformational process called Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Parent input is needed. Please complete the following survey to help us learn more about areas of strength and needed growth in our school.
Please complete the survey using the link above. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school building, think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions.
As we have done the last several years, you can expect to receive District Updates around the 15th and 30th in June and July. The WolfPack Hub is also your one-stop shop as a West Clermont family! In addition, your child's principal will communicate with you once we get closer to school starting in August.
Grade-level newsletters will be updated monthly.
Our Discover team newsletter will be updated quarterly.

As you may know one of our big communication focuses for 2025 is producing and sharing more stories about West Clermont. We want to highlight the great things happening in our district and what sets us apart but we need your help to make this a reality! Please send us stories that you know of (happening in your classrooms, school buildings, sports, extracurriculars, the arts, alumni, community partnerships, etc ) that you think would make a great story for us to highlight. We are looking for stories that not only showcase our strengths as a district but ones that also have a human connection. You can upload photos/videos/and information about your story idea/submission. We may use them in various ways - they could be used as longer stories (see below) or as shorts on social media. The more information (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW) helps us out.
Here’s how to upload:
