Dear Summerside Families,
We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday with a chance to slow down and enjoy family and friends. We focused on learning, leading, and succeeding at Summerside as all returned ready to take on the next three weeks with intentional sights on student goals and progress!
It is winter benchmark assessment time. All students in kindergarten - fifth grade will be assessed on their progress with their literacy skills using the Acadiance benchmark assessments. Students in grades 2 - 5 will begin taking their iReady benchmark winter assessments in ELA and Math. These normed assessments help us monitor your child's academic progress since the start of the school year and through the years. The results of these assessments will be shared in January to continue to guide our partnership in meeting your child's academic needs together.
We encourage all to continue to read nightly as that makes a HUGE difference in fostering independence, leading all to our Portrait of a Graduate outcomes. A book makes a great present by the way! Be sure to see below for learning, leadership, and service to others in action!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Mrs. Edwards
