Dear Summerside Families, 

Fall is in the air and it is that time of year to break out winter coats, hats, and gloves as the weather is definitely getting colder outside! A reminder that students will go outside for recess to have some fun and get some much-needed fresh air and exercise as long as the surface conditions are deemed safe and the temperature (including wind chill) feels like 28 degrees or warmer. Please be sure to write their name on their belongings. If your child is in need of a winter coat, please let us know as we can connect you with local resources to help keep them warm. You can call the front office, 513-947-7900, or reach out directly to Mrs. Lisa Sheffey, Sheffey_l@my.westcler.org, our Keeping Kids Warm Coordinator and one of our three Reading Specialists at Summerside. 

We will be honoring Veteran's Day on Monday, November 11th. Our PTO is hosting a breakfast for students who are able to bring a special guest to Summerside that morning.  All students at Summerside will learn more about Veteran's Day that day and have the opportunity to honor our special guests that morning. Please see below for the flyer from our PTO for more details. RSVP is due this Wednesday, November 6th. 

A reminder, we do not have school on Monday, November 4th for professional learning and Tuesday, November 5th due to Election Day (also a professional learning day for all staff).  We encourage all to get out and vote!
