Dear Summerside Families,
We always have a lot to celebrate at Summerside, including earning the Summerside Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Silver Ohio State Award again this school year! This is the second year in a row that we have applied for and earned this recognition in honor of our intentional efforts to be proactive in creating a positive learning culture for all, every day, in every way. We are very proud of this continued state designation!
Partnering with all families is also important to us. Thank you to those who were able to conference with your child's teacher. We encourage all to reach out with ways we can support your child's success and answer any questions at any time. You can now access your child's first quarter report card in Powerschool. See below for accessing support.
We will be honoring Veteran's Day on Monday, November 11th. Our PTO is hosting our second annual breakfast for students who are able to bring a special guest to Summerside that morning. All students at Summerside will learn more about Veteran's Day that day and have the opportunity to honor our special guests as well that morning. Please see below for the flyer from our PTO for more details along with insight to our upcoming Spooktacular event this Friday, October 25th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Mrs. Edwards
First Quarter Report Cards are available to view on the West Clermont PowerSchool Parent Portal.

One of our building and district initiatives is for ALL students to engage in 3 or more ZEARN lessons each week! Many students are doing this during independent work time in math class but are also encouraged to engage in this work at home each week too, especially during our shortened weeks like this past week.
Ask your third grader about how they are celebrating/recognizing their ZEARN work!

New CAT Team Discusses Master Facilities Analysis
Dear West Clermont:
The West Clermont Community Advisory Team (CAT) convened on October 17, 2024, to discuss the master facilities information update recently provided to the BOE by the superintendent’s team.
The CAT team learned their proposal must have an additional scope of work be added to the original plan to ensure all facility challenges across the district are met. The updated scope of work includes safety, technology, and furniture updates at all West Clermont Schools, additional classrooms at Clough and W-T, a new library at Clough and renovated libraries at Amelia and W-T.
The CAT team discussed a new proposal based on information provided by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) which includes an updated district configuration proposal including: 6 elementary schools, a 5-6 intermediate school and 7-8 middle school on the middle school campus and preschools at 3 sites (Willowville, Summerside, and New Elementary School). West Clermont Treasurer Dan Romano shared how the buildings could be funded with the following voter approved options: property tax, income tax, or combination of both.
The superintendent’s team collected feedback from the CAT team and has an updated process schedule moving forward:
October 28th: BOE meeting-the BOE will discuss all master plan options on the table
Late Oct/Early Nov: Stakeholder Facility Survey
Nov. 6th: BOE meeting at WCMS-the superintendent will share final recommendation and call for a Board vote.
Nov. 14th: Tour of WCMS and Town Hall
Nov. 25th: BOE meeting-possible Resolution of Necessity
Dec. 9th: BOE meeting-possible Resolution to Proceed
*The Nov. 25 + Dec. 9th decisions will determine if there will be an issue on the ballot in May
