Dear Summerside Families,
Can you believe we have been in school this year for 100 days already?! Time flies when learning, leading, and succeeding at Summerside! Wednesday was the 100th day of school and our kindergartners and first graders spent time counting 100 items, writing 100 words and what they will be doing when they turn 100, and celebrating being 100 days smarter!
Our district professional development days serve as opportunities for our teachers and staff to reflect on instructional practices, collaborate, and learn from one another! On Thursday, a number of Summerside staff members presented to other teachers across the district to synergize and share their expertise, successes in student outcomes, and how they embrace our district mission to commit to excellence with every learner, every day, in every way!
We are looking forward to #LOVEWC Spirit Week starting with Themed Character Tuesday. Check out the flyers below!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney & Mrs. Edwards

Valentine's Day and
100th Day of School
It takes courage to put first things first and stay aligned to our goals and mission statements. Fifth grade students made a list of five people they can go to for help. Afterwards, we came together to discuss these people, their relationship to them, and how these people help in student's day to day lives.

Several of our board members will be moving on as their children graduate from Summerside, creating opportunities for new leadership. At our March meeting, we will be accepting nominations for the Treasurer position, with voting taking place in April. In April, we will take nominations for President, Vice President, and Secretary, with voting in May.
If you’re interested in a board position or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the PTO at summersidepto@gmail.com. If a board position isn’t the right fit, we also welcome family members who’d like to volunteer for various roles and events throughout the year.

West Clermont is excited to announce our second annual State of the Schools Showcase on March 4, 2025, from 6-8 PM at West Clermont High School! The event is free and open to everyone in our community and will feature students from all of our elementary schools, middle school, and high school!
The night will begin with an opening keynote by Superintendent Natasha Adams, followed by student learning exhibition booths, performances by student music groups, and a visual arts showcase! Following the keynote in the auditorium, guests will have the opportunity to explore/visit the exhibition booths, watch the performances, and browse the artwork. During the student learning exhibition booths, students will showcase their learning and learning journey and share their projects/example work. The Student Learning Exhibition and Arts Showcase is an opportunity for everyone in our community to deepen their understanding of how the West Clermont Portrait of a Graduate comes to life across our district! You won't want to miss it!

As you may know one of our big communication focuses for 2025 is producing and sharing more stories about West Clermont. We want to highlight the great things happening in our district and what sets us apart but we need your help to make this a reality! Please send us stories that you know of (happening in your classrooms, school buildings, sports, extracurriculars, the arts, alumni, community partnerships, etc ) that you think would make a great story for us to highlight. We are looking for stories that not only showcase our strengths as a district but ones that also have a human connection. You can upload photos/videos/and information about your story idea/submission. We may use them in various ways - they could be used as longer stories (see below) or as shorts on social media. The more information (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW) helps us out.
Here’s how to upload:
