Watch the video showing 'I Want a Pet' read aloud (beside).
Before reading, consider the best pet? What animal do you think makes the best pet? Why?
While reading, think about the types of pets each character wants. What pet do you think the girl will get at the end?
After reading, think about all the pets the little girl considered. Did you count how many? Are there any pets you can think of that she didn’t think about? What did the little girl settle with in the end?
Activity: Draw and describe an animal that you think might come out of the egg.

Now you can test your knowledge of compound words by completing the quiz! Watch the video beside and see if you can guess what each of the compound words will be based on the pictures.
After you complete the quiz choose 3 compound words not shown in the video.
Then write down and illustrate them just like in the video. Writing the word down then two pictures with a 'plus' sign in between.
