To help us understand what we read we need to think about what is happening to the character(s). How are they being treated? What is going on for them? Try to feel how they feel and imagine how you’d react.

Read a story (fiction) on Active Learn. As you read, think about how the characters are feeling and why.
Read at least two books per day.

Choose a noun (a person, place or thing), e.g. boy, dog, ball, apple, house, woman, car.
Brainstorm a list of words to describe your noun using each sense (using the worksheet beside).
Then use a selection of the words you just came up with to write sentences describing your topic
