In Writing, we have been learning to put words into sentences so that they make sense and sound good. This is part of the Sentence Fluency Trait.
To help us get better at Sentence Fluency, we have been reading lots of different story books. We have seen how writers put together sentences so that they are easy to read and listen to, while being interesting.
One of the ways some writers make their stories interesting is by adding speech. Last week we did this by completing the comics. In our meet today we added speech from the comics to the stories.
Now its time to put this speech in our own writing.
Choose one of the comic strips below. Use the comic strip to complete the story, adding in the speech.
Easier: Use the speech bubbles to add speech to the story.
Harder: Write in each of the speech bubbles to tell us what the characters are saying. Then use what you wrote to add speech to the story.
Challenge: Write in each of the speech bubbles to tell us what the characters are saying. Then use what you wrote to add speech to the story.
