For this session your child will require: -
Writing Pencil
Something to write on (Scrap book, Note pad, Paper)
Make your own treasure map and put an X where the treasure is buried.
Then write directions to reach your treasure. You must include ‘right’ and ‘left’ in your directions at least once.
You can use the worksheet (below) if you want to.
Challenge: Now write your directions using only the compass directions - North, South, East, West
Print and play the 'On a Treasure Trek' game board and spinners (beside).
Each player starts on the ship. Spin the spinner and move in the direction you land on. If you land on a treasure box collect a counter (at home you may use beads, raw pasta, sultanas, etc. as counters). Keep playing until someone lands on the flag. The player with the most counters is the winner!
Play the Giving Directions Sentence Monkey Game that we played during our online session today.
