What you will need: 6 small coloured squares of paper, hole punch, glue stick, scissors, large piece of paper.
Instructions:
Listen to the story ‘The Perfect Square’
Take 6 different coloured squares. If you don’t have any small squared paper (eg post it notes) you can use an A4 sheet of paper cut into squares. If your squares are white, colour or paint them each a different colour.
First square - punch holes in it and cut it into pieces.
Second square - tear into pieces
Third square - shredded into strips
Fourth square - cut into triangles (shatter it)
Fifth square - snip into ribbons using scissors with different teeth if you have them.
Sixth square - crumple it up and rip it.
Now use all the parts of your squares to make a picture. You may like to add extra details using a texta.
Alternatively you may like to create a picture using just one large square and try a few techniques on the same square. Then turn it into a picture.
