This next two weeks you will be participating in a school wide Postcard Mural Project. This art lesson is based on art teacher Cassie Stephens heart mural she did with students. Each of you should have recieved a stamped postcard with a Mountain Mahogany return address. As we move into the final months of 2020. I want you to reflect on what you are thankful for, what has been good this year. This next two weeks we are going to create a community postcard mural focused on Gratitude, so grab your postcard and art supplies and lets get started!
You will need the following supplies.
Postcard, sharpie, color pencils
Please watch the video before getting started
You recieved a postcard with either a line or a curve on it. If you recieved a line you will only drawing on one side of the line if you recieved a curve you will only be drawing below the curve( see Video).
Using a sharpie, divide the space into 5 parts with lines to create 5 spaces. Think about 5 things you are grateful for in 2020. Using colorpencils, within each space, draw what you are grateful for and add color.
When you are done with your image turn it around and write down what you are grateful for. Write the school address if it is not already included and send it out no later then Nov 19.
Once your postcard is recieved at the school, I will put everyones piece together to create one large mural to be displayed in the office. I look forward to seeing what you send!
