As the weather continues to get warmer making art outside can be lots of fun! In the 1960's and 70's an Art movement emerged called Land art, variously known as Earth art, environmental art, and Earthworks, is an art movement that uses natural found objects to create art. Andy Goldsworthy is one of the most famous of these artist. His movie, Rivers and Tides from 2005 documents his process of using leaves, icicles, rocks and other found natural materials to create his art. His art also uses some of the elements of of Art including repetion, color and shape working together to make harmonious sculptures. This week when your are the Bosque or hanging out in your back yard collect natural materials such as leaves, shells, rocks and sticks and create an Earth work on your own!
