The twelve main Olympians are:

• Zeus (Jupiter, in Roman mythology): the king of all the gods (and father to many) and god of weather, law and fate. Symbols: Eagle, thunderbolt

• Poseidon (Neptune): god of the sea. Symbols: trident, dolphins, horse

• Athena (Minerva): goddess of wisdom and defense. Symbols: owl , olive tree, spear and shield

• Ares (Mars): god of war. Symbols: bronze tipped spear, golden armer, venomous snakes and vulture

• Artemis (Diana): goddess of hunting, animals. Symbols: bow and arrow, deer and cyprus

• Hermes (Mercury): god of travel, hospitality and trade and Zeus’s personal messenger. Symbols: winged sandals, travelers cap

• Hera (Juno): the queen of the gods and goddess of women and marriage. Symbols: pomegrante, lotus staff, peacock

• Demeter (Ceres): goddess of agriculture and grain. Symbols: reaping hook, grain

• Hephaestus (Vulcan): god of fire, metalworking and sculpture. Symbols:Hammer, tongs, anvil

• Apollo (Apollo): god of prophesy, music and poetry and knowledge. Symbols: Bow and arrow, Lyre( Musical instrument) raven

• Dionysus (Bacchus): god of festivity. Symbols: grapevine

• Aphrodite (Venus): goddess of beauty and love. Symbols: Apple, Myrtle Wreath, scalloped shell, dove
