Hello Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine and warmer weather. Report cards went home yesterday, please note that due to the number of subs we had in world languages, there will be no grades on the report card. However, we have continued the passport program that began at the start of the year and we now have a long term sub. Let's welcome Mr. Harrison, he is actually a former student of mine!
We have been so busy since we have been back from break with preparations for our animal museum and hosting the all school meeting. We look forward to seeing you during our animal museum!
Conferences begin the week of the 17th. If you signed up for a virtual conference, I will send links via email before your conference. Thanks!
Learning Highlights from the Week
First Grade
We are wrapping up our non standard measuring by comparing two measurements/ numbers and finding the difference.
Second Grade
Students are working on place value through 100. They are identifying the hundreds, tens and ones and also writing the number in expanded form.
Students are working on r controlled vowels, ending such as ng and nk, long o vowel teams and multisyllabic words.
We are working on building fluency when we read and decoding words by chunking sounds or syllables in multisyllabic words.
We are putting our research books together and have begun the process of creating our animals. We are excited to show you our Rainforest museum in a couple of weeks! The students are working so hard and are extremely excited to show you their hard work!
