La Morfologia

Ha una corteccia spessa, di colore grigio scuro tendente al nerastro; i rami sono massicci con rametti giallastri.

It has a thick bark, of dark grey colour tending to the blackish; the branches are massive with yellowish twigs.

Le foglie sono lunghe circa 8 cm, con lamina triangolare e margine seghettato, posizionate a spirale lungo i rami. Sono di colore verde, lucide nella superficie superiore e opache nella superficie inferiore.

The leaves are about 8 cm long, with triangular lamina and serrated edge; placed spirally along the branches. They are green, glossy on the upper surface and opaque on the lower surface.

I fiori sono maschili e femminili su individui separati (specie dioica)

I frutti sono in capsule bivalvi che si schiudono verso il mese di giugno.

I semi sono molto piccoli e provvisti di pappo cotonoso adatti ad essere trasportati dal vento.

Flowers are male and female on separate individuals (dioica species) The fruits are in bivalve capsules which open around the month of June. The seeds are very small and equipped with cotton pappus suitable for being carried by the wind.

Le gemme, di odore balsamico, sono viscose e brunastre.

The balsamic buds are viscous and brownish.
