Archipelagos

There are many archipelagos in Panama. An archipelago is a chain of multiple islands. The two in Panama are San Blas and Bocas De Torro.


The Panama Canal

The Panama Canal is a man-made 77 kilometer waterway in Panama that connects the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. The canal makes it easier for big cargo ships that are carrying resources to get to California and Mexico. It helps because they don't have to go all the way around South America near the Antarctic Circle, which is very dangerous because of all the icebergs.


Volcán Barú

Volcán Barú is one of the volcanoes in Panama and is also the highest mountain at 11,401 feet above sea level. It last erupted in 1550. Another is El Valle and the last one is La Yeguada which last erupted in 1620.
