Change the world project

Objective: To make a connection with science by helping others or improving the environment.

Change the World Project

If you are having trouble coming up with a project idea, it could be as simple as this. Be sure to get a before photo with you in it and an after photo, as well.

* Please note that this project would not have a high score for 'rigor.' The maximum grade for picking up trash one time would be 80%.

What should be in my presentation?

1. Title slide: include a picture related to your problem, the statement of the problem you want to help fix, your name, and your block number. Include the school year, "2022-2023." The statement of the problem may be a complete sentence, but keep everything else in the presentation brief.

2. Solution slide(s): include photos of you implementing your solution and bullet points about how you helped solve this problem. Be sure to include photos showing your progress over time. I must see the stages of your project. A project with only final product photos will be capped at 50%. Include charts and graphs as necessary to communicate your results. DO NOT use complete sentences.

3. Abstract slide(s): include a picture related to your topic, the title, author, and the publication date of each of the articles you researched, and bullet points about the main idea of each article. DO NOT use complete sentences. The bullet points are just to remind you what you want to say about your articles. Use a separate slide for each article. There is a minimum of three articles and two scientific studies and/or sources of related statistics.
