CoLT (Characteristics of Living Things) Test - Data analysis
I predicted a 70% total average for all of my classes on this test. I based that on the fact that only a small percentage of people (13%) completed the practice test that I assigned for test preparation.Â
The average grade of all first attempts on the practice test was 85%. It makes sense that the actual test grade average was lower (79%) because people who didn't take the practice test didn't give themselves an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, thus pulling the overall average down.
My final analysis is that quite a few people didn't understand the expectation of completing the practice test, but that is not a reflection of not making the attempt to learn, just an unfamiliarity with the class expectations. My goal is to make sure students are clear about what must be completed prior to the test.
