Thursday, August 23:

Read Chapter 17 (the first chapter) in the Oxford Latin Course: Part 2 pages 6-9 and familiarize yourself with the books contents (particularly, where the grammar exercises and the Latin-English vocabulary is. If you were one of the classes who did not get your book today, see below where I have scanned the images of pages 6-9 for you. You will get your books tomorrow. Be prepared to go over the Comitia passage together and complete the Responde Latine questions 1-5 if you can.

Nb. You do not need to translate all of Comitia. Try your best to read through and do your best to answer the questions. If you can't get through it all, that is okay! We will go over it tomorrow in class.

Come to class with 8 vocabulary words written down from the chapter, at least one from each category (verbs, adjectives, ect.) that you have decided to memorize this (very short) week.

Read Chapter 17 in the Oxford Latin Course: Part 2 pages 10-11 and be prepared to discuss the questions in the pink box regarding elections in class. Note that this is in English.

Read through the grammar exercises in the back of the book for Chapter 17 regarding the Imperfect and Perfect Tense, and complete exercises 17.3 and 17.4 (on page 115-116) on a separate piece of paper. Please write clearly. Pages 112-114 go over the Imperfect and Perfect tenses, both what their stems are and what their endings are. Note that you need to identify the conjugation of the verb in order to create the verb forms.

Remember to be on the look out for Classics in your daily life during the weekend!

Translate and answer the questions for Quintus paterque in periculum cadunt on page 15. Make sure you are following the instructions from the prompt to translate the first two paragraphs and answer the questions on the third.

Read about Numerals and Expressions of Time on pages 117-118.

Complete Exercise 18.4 and 18.6. Do Exercise 18.7 #1-3. Note: for exercise 18.7, only do numbers 1-3, for 18.4 and 18.6 do all of the numbers. Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper to turn into me.

Continue working on Memorizing Chapter 18 vocabulary (on page 13). Memorize at least 8 new words.

Tuesday, August 28:

Complete the Exercises A- D in the packet from class about the Imperfect and Perfect Tense. Please write the answers on a separate sheet of paper to turn into me.

Monday, August 27:

Complete Iupiter, Io worksheet.

Work on memorizing all of Chapter 17 vocabulary (on page 7).

THERE WILL BE A QUIZ NEXT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH. THE QUIZ WILL COVER VOCABULARY FROM CHAPTER 17 AND CHAPTER 18, AS WELL AS GRAMMAR AND CULTURE QUESTIONS.
