Red Hill Elementary School-Wide Rules: Building a Positive Community

At Red Hill Elementary, our school-wide rules help create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for all students. Developed from the classroom rules that teachers establish at the start of the year, these shared expectations provide students with consistency across all school settings. Our rules are stated positively to highlight and reinforce desired behaviors, making it easier for students to build constructive habits.

This year’s school-wide rules emphasize respect, teamwork, and responsibility:

• We use our powers for good – Encourages students to make thoughtful, positive choices that benefit themselves and others.

• We work and play as a team – Promotes cooperation, kindness, and a collaborative spirit in both learning and play.

• We learn from our mistakes – Instills a growth mindset, encouraging resilience and viewing mistakes as learning opportunities.

En la Escuela Primaria Red Hill, nuestras reglas generales ayudan a crear un ambiente seguro, de apoyo y motivador para todos los estudiantes. Desarrolladas a partir de las reglas de las aulas que los maestros establecen al comienzo del año, estas expectativas compartidas brindan a los estudiantes consistencia en todos los entornos escolares. Nuestras reglas están enunciadas positivamente para resaltar y reforzar los comportamientos deseados, facilitando la construcción de hábitos constructivos en los estudiantes.

Communities in Schools Now at Red Hill: Meet Savannah Eckstein!

Dear Red Hill families,

My name is Savannah Eckstein, and I am excited to join the student support team at Red Hill through ACPS’s new partnership with Communities in Schools of NOVA. Communities in Schools (CIS) offers student support programs in schools across the country, serving over 1.3 million students in 27 states. Our mission is to support students holistically, focusing not only on academics but also on relationship-building, problem-solving, and personal development.

I am honored to serve in this new role as CIS’s Site Coordinator at Red Hill Elementary. My role is to build strong relationships with students, families, and faculty to identify areas of need and create individualized programming that supports not only our students but also their families and the larger community. As I get to know the students, I will design programs to address their needs at school-wide, small-group, and individual levels. CIS will provide resources to help students develop their academic, social, and emotional skills. Since relationships are at the core of what we do, our approach is centered on building meaningful connections in both the school and community, ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed.

Mi nombre es Savannah Eckstein y estoy emocionada de unirme al equipo de apoyo estudiantil de Red Hill a través de la nueva asociación de ACPS con Communities in Schools of NOVA. Communities in Schools (CIS) ofrece programas de apoyo para estudiantes en escuelas de todo el país, atendiendo a más de 1.3 millones de estudiantes en 27 estados. Nuestra misión es apoyar a los estudiantes de manera integral, enfocándonos no solo en lo académico, sino también en la construcción de relaciones, la resolución de problemas y el desarrollo personal.

Es un honor servir en este nuevo rol como Coordinadora de Sitio de CIS en la Escuela Primaria Red Hill. Mi función es establecer relaciones sólidas con los estudiantes, familias y personal para identificar áreas de necesidad y crear programas individualizados que apoyen no solo a nuestros estudiantes, sino también a sus familias y a la comunidad en general. A medida que conozca a los estudiantes, desarrollaré programas para satisfacer sus necesidades a nivel escolar, en grupos pequeños e individualmente. CIS brindará recursos para ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar sus habilidades académicas, sociales y emocionales. New Procedure: Keep Bus Lane Clear During Drop-Off and Pick-Up

To improve safety and efficiency, please keep the area directly in front of the buses clear to allow for bus departures, as some buses will now be leaving earlier. Your cooperation in keeping this area open is essential for maintaining an orderly schedule for all students. Thank you for your attention to this updated procedure.
