Join us on Thursday, November 21st, from 1:15-2:15 PM for an afternoon of math fun, games and learning. Come dressed in your favorite game-themed outfit and dive into exciting, hands-on math activities with us!
Look for the flyer in your child’s red folder, and RSVP by returning the flyer or sending a Remind message to your child’s teacher. We can’t wait to see you there!

Red Hill Elementary Spelling Bee Season Begins!
We are excited to announce that the Albemarle County Public Schools will participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition again this year!
How the spelling bee works:
Each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom at Red Hill will hold a written spelling bee on the Monday or Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. All students in grades 3-5 will be encouraged to participate at this level, it is not required. The names of students who qualify for the school-level bee will be announced on November 26th.
The Red Hill School Spelling Bee will be held in the cafeteria on December 17th at 8:30 am, and the action will also be live streamed over Zoom.
The top speller from our school-level bee will represent Red Hill at the Albemarle County Division Spelling Bee scheduled for February 3rd, 2025.
To help your child succeed:
Encourage daily spelling practice, using word lists provided by teachers.
Support participation in the Spelling Bee Club if they are interested.
Practice at home using the spelling lists, books, apps, and activities highlighted in Ways to Study for the Spelling Bee.
We also welcome community members and parents who would like to volunteer as judges for the school-wide bee on December 17th. If you’re interested in helping out or have suggestions for potential judges, please let us know. We look forward to a season of fun learning and friendly competition, helping our students broaden their vocabulary and build strong literacy skills!

¡Comienza la Temporada de Spelling Bee en la Escuela Primaria Red Hill!
¡Nos emociona anunciar que las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Albemarle participarán nuevamente este año en la competencia Scripps National Spelling Bee!
Cómo funciona el spelling bee: Cada aula de 3°, 4° y 5° grado en Red Hill llevará a cabo una competencia de deletreo escrita el lunes o martes de la semana de Acción de Gracias. Se alentará a todos los estudiantes de 3° a 5° grado a participar en esta fase, aunque no es obligatorio. Los nombres de los estudiantes que califiquen para la competencia a nivel escolar se anunciarán el 26 de noviembre.
La competencia de deletreo de la escuela Red Hill se llevará a cabo en la cafetería el 17 de diciembre a las 8:30 am, y el evento también será transmitido en vivo por Zoom.
El mejor deletreador de nuestra competencia escolar representará a Red Hill en la competencia de deletreo del distrito de Albemarle, programada para el 3 de febrero de 2025.

Red Hill Elementary is looking for a parent representative to join the ACPS Math Adoption Committee. Meeting starts in January 2025. This committee will help select new math programs ensuring our curriculum meets updated state expectations.
