Exciting News for Bus Riders: New Bus Route Added!
We are pleased to announce the addition of a fifth bus to our fleet. This new bus will help shorten the overall length of some routes, ensuring more students arrive at school on time. For those students who have experienced 70-80 minute rides, this improvement will significantly reduce their travel time, allowing for a smoother start to the school day.
Please note that some bus stop times, bus numbers, and drivers may change as we make this adjustment. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition. Look for more details from the Transportation Department regarding changes to your specific route.

Safety Drill Recap: Practicing Staying Indoors
Last week, we held a "Secure the Building" drill to practice what to do when it’s safer to stay inside the school. During the drill, teachers locked all doors, and students remained inside. During these drills, student follow their regular schedule and are allowed to move freely throughout the building.
These drills help us prepare for situations when staying indoors is the best choice. It’s similar to a fire drill, but instead of going outside, we stay safely inside.
Talking to children about the importance of safety drills is key. Encourage them to think of drills as practice, just like rehearsing for a school play or sports game. Explain that by following the steps calmly, they are helping keep themselves and everyone around them safe. Reassure them that while these situations are rare, practicing helps everyone feel prepared.

Resumen del Simulacro de Seguridad: Practicando Quedarse Dentro
La semana pasada, realizamos un simulacro de "Asegurar el Edificio" para practicar qué hacer cuando es más seguro quedarse dentro de la escuela. Durante este simulacro, los estudiantes siguen su horario regular y se les permite moverse libremente por el edificio.
Estos simulacros nos ayudan a prepararnos para situaciones en las que quedarse dentro es la mejor opción. Es similar a un simulacro de incendio, pero en lugar de salir, nos quedamos seguros dentro.
Hablar con los niños sobre la importancia de los simulacros de seguridad es fundamental. Anímelos a ver los simulacros como una práctica, tal como lo harían al ensayar para una obra escolar o un partido deportivo.
