athletics

Congratulations to our Boy's Golf Team who are the 2022-2023 League Champions! The team of Dimarco Benallo, Jordan McCaslin, Deacon Colwell, Makian Maydew, and Grayson Miller held off an early run from Valor to win the 5A Jeffco Team Championship by 9 strokes.  Dimarco Benallo took home the League MVP by earning the individual title.

Volleyball fell to Legacy this week at home in a hard-fought match.  Another big crowd came out to support the team on Hats and Helmets night.  Mustangs will be at home this Tuesday against Golden.

Boy's soccer recorded a shutout last night on the road in Colorado Springs.  They blanked Liberty High School 2-0 as they prepare to enter league play.  Soccer travels to Fort Collins next week to take on Rocky Mountain.

Cross Country ran great at last weekend's Bernie Gay Invite hosted by Centaurus.  The girls finished 2nd overall and the boys 4th.  Good luck today at the Wildcat Invite over at Stenger!

Softball beat Chaparral this week 10-8 and they were rained out of their league opener against Dakota Ridge.

Tennis finished 2nd in Grand Junction last weekend at the Western Slope Invite.  They are looking to finish up league play with only one loss as they gear up for Regionals and State.

Football has been on the road since returning from Florida and has beat the #2 teams in the state on back-to-back weeks.  They beat then #2 Grandview last Friday and followed it up with a gritty comeback victory last night over current #2 Regis 29-28.  Football will travel to Valor next Friday.

Honoring Fallen Officer Dillon VakoffMembers of the Arvada Police Department presented the #48 Jersey to our captains for Thursday Nights kickoff in honor of Officer Vakoff.  They also brought a courage coin to be used for the coin toss.  Thank you to Regis for joining the Arvada PD and Ralston Valley communities in honoring one of our fallen heroes with a moment of silence prior to kickoff.  Officer Vakof was killed while responding to a domestic disturbance in the early hours of September 11th.

These fee deadlines are set to ensure adherence to the College Board's practice of handling AP registration and exam logistics in the Fall rather than the Spring, which had been common practice until changes were instituted a few years ago.

Please direct any questions or concerns about AP exam fees or deadlines to Mr. Merkel (Counselor) at  scott.merkel@jeffco.k12.co.us.

On Tuesday, Sept. 13, Colorado Democracy Challenge offered students the opportunity to pre-register and register to vote. CODC representatives spent the day at a table in the lobby and were able to visit some classrooms to discuss our civic duty and the importance of voting.

Our FCCLA Senior Leaders attended the Colorado Career and Technical Student Organization Leadership Kickoff this week.  This event is held to engage and motivate chapter officers before their first general membership meeting of the year.  They participated in several workshops and activities with state officers from FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, and FFA! They had a great time and came back to RV with so many new ideas to kick off the year with our local FCCLA chapter.

Check out our Honors Biology students investigating a catalase titration lab in Mrs. Reid's class!
