Dress Code

As the warmer weather approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our community of our school dress code.  Ralston Valley places a tremendous emphasis on academics, and we feel it is critical to keep a learning environment that promotes safety and professionalism.  We feel that dress is a form of self-expression, and know that different environments are appropriate for different types of dress.  Please remind your student to keep their attire professional while at school by following our school dress code.  For specific details or questions, you can visit our school handbook, contact the Dean, or speak to your student's grade-level Administrator.

athletics

Our Track and Field team competes at the Arvada City Championships tomorrow out at Jeffco Stadium.  As the defending champions, the Mustangs will look to repeat and take home the City Championship Trophy once again (pictured below).  Good luck Mustangs!!

GLAX battled the Poudre School District Stars at NAAC last night.  They persevered through the wind and cold.  Strong defense and good offense had the game close through the first half.  However, the size and speed of the Stars allowed them to pull away in the second half.  The girls travel to Chaparral tomorrow for a big game and then will be back home on Thursday at Trailblazer.

Soccer had an interesting week.  For the second time this season, the weather forced a last minute change of venue on game day.  This week, the snow in Fort Collins sent our game from Rocky Mountain to our field here at the school.  The impromptu home opener was competitive with Ralston Valley coming up short 3-2.  However, they avenged that loss last night at the NAAC beating #1 Jefferson Academy 3-1.  The Mustangs were fueled by Raleigh Greason's hat trick and some great team defense on the other end of the field.  They will be at Mountain Vista tomorrow and host Evergreen here at Ralston Valley on Tuesday.

BLAX will be at home for their first game since spring break tonight against Green Mountain.  3:30 at the NAAC is the place to be to cheer on the boys.  Two big road games next week, at Colorado Academy on Tuesday and Denver South on Saturday.

Tennis continues to be dominant.  They swept Denver East and then came through with a huge win over Fossil Ridge yesterday.  With the team score tied 3-3 our #4 doubles was down 1-5 in the 3rd set. They battled back for the win giving the Mustangs a 4-3 team victory.

Baseball went 5-1 over the last two weeks.  After beating Monarch to start spring break, they went 4-0 in Arizona against some top-notch competition.  They will travel to Chaparral this weekend looking to keep things rolling.

Swim and Dive won big over Valor and Columbine to start spring break.  They have the Jeffco Relays this weekend and will look to carry their early season momentum into this big event.  Good Luck!!

Congratulations Coach Madden - Welcome to the 300 Club!!!

Congratulations to Coach Brad Madden.  During the Baseball team's spring break trip to Arizona, Coach Madden become one of a select few high school coaches in Colorado History to reach 300 as a head coach. Coach Madden has been the head coach for three State Championship teams in his career.  One with Golden ('03) and back to back with Green Mountain ('13 & '14).  He continues to be a great coach and mentor for youth as our head coach.  Come out on April 5th to Nate Journey Field for a short celebration following the Varsity game against Boulder.  Congratulation and here's to the next 300 Coach!!
