Course Selection for 2023-2024 (cont.)
Continuing next week, counselors will introduce the course selection process to students in grades 10 and 11.
When engaging in the process of selecting courses for the 2023-24 school year, students and families should consider the following:
Enrollment Requirements
Students in Grades 9-11 are required to be enrolled in six classes each semester. Students in Grade 12 are required to be enrolled in five classes each semester. Students may take an extra class if enrolled in a performing arts course, Student Government, or with administrative approval.
Students must receive approval from their counselor before enrolling in courses not taken at RVHS or Warren Tech. Credit for courses taken outside RVHS or Warren Tech may not be accepted as credits toward graduation.
Schedule Changes/Adjustments
Students should choose courses wisely during the selection process because changes are often not possible at the beginning of the semester.
Dropping a year-long course at semester is possible only if a student has been misplaced and an application for dropping a year-long course has been submitted.
Changes will only be made for incorrect level, prior semester failure, or class conflict.
Changes will not be made for teacher/period preference.
Course Selection Presentation dates (during student's English class):
Current 9th Graders: February 15-16, 2023
Elective entry in Infinite Campus and completed course selection forms due in Counseling Office: February 24, 2023
Current 10th Graders: February 21-22, 2023
Current 11th Graders: February 28-March 1, 2023

Good luck to Lincoln Gregerson as he competes at the State Wrestling Championships this weekend at Ball Arena. After winning this morning, Lincoln has advanced to the semifinals. Come on out to Ball Arena tonight and root him on to tomorrow night's finals.
Our hockey and basketball teams will find out their seeding in the post season this Sunday. Hockey currently sits #3 in the CHSAA seeding index and looks primed for a post season run. Girls Basketball is ranked 9th and with a win tomorrow against #10 Doherty, they could move as high as #7. Either way, they will likely be hosting a first round game on Tuesday night. Boys Basketball is right on the bubble for a home playoff game. They finish their regular season tonight against Chatfield. With a win, they will have a chance to host a game this coming Wednesday. Good luck to all three teams.
Congratulations to our JV Cheer team on qualifying for finals at UCA Nationals, this week in Florida. When the dust finally settled, our JV Cheer team finished in 7th place...the highest national finish in school history!
