Mathematics

Nominations Wanted!

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teaching.

The award recognizes those teachers that have both deep content knowledge of the subjects they teach and the ability to motivate and enable students to be successful in those areas.

Each Presidential Awardee receives a certificate signed by the President of the United States, a $10,000 award from NSF, and an all-expenses paid trip for an award ceremony. In addition, awardees join a national cohort of award-winning teachers, providing opportunities to impact teaching on a state and national scale.

4 Ways Reading and Writing Interlock: What the Research Says By: Stephen Sawchuk - January 17, 2023 4 Ways Reading and Writing Interlock: What the Research Says

Pennsylvania educators play an important role in reviewing items for the PSSA and Keystone tests. Each summer, educators from all over the Commonwealth engage in setting ranges for open-ended questions, reviewing new test items, and reviewing data from field tested items. If you are interested in participating, complete the Educator Application: PSSA & Keystone Exams Assessment Committee Reviews . Your application will be evaluated, and your name will be placed in a pool of educators. You will receive an availability survey in the winter, and committees will be formed in early spring.
