OpenSciEd Curriculum Launch!

To support our Middle School and High School Science Teachers with implementing the new PA STEELS Standards, Intermediate Unit 1 is hosting OpenSciEd in-person for their immersive facilitator training this October!

OpenSciEd is a freely available, fully aligned, Next Generation Science Standards and PA STEELS curriculum that fosters deep and engaging science learning.  It has received all GREEN ratings on EdReports for meeting expectations on alignment and usability for educators.  As of now, Middle School and High School units are available with the expectation the elementary curriculum will be launched next school year.

Please support your teachers in joining us, in-person, from October 30-November 3, 2023 to learn more about the free and open-source OpenSciEd curriculum, how to get started with using it, and make meaningful alignment to your science curriculum and the STEELS Standards.

Registration is now open to join us for this 5-day Curriculum Launch training!

Graham Fletcher's "BFF"

Designed for K+, these resources support students' co-development of conceptual understanding through strategic reasoning AND their fact automaticity. Students need to OWN their facts, not just KNOW them. (And let's face it... too many of our kids don't do either.)
