PA Computer Science for All Summit 2019
June 26, June 27, June 28, 2019 at the PaTTAN Harrisburg Campus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
The core focus of the summit will be to raise awareness of the importance of computer science education, elevate best practices in providing equitable access to computer science from early childhood to post secondary, highlight the importance of community partnerships, and provide professional learning for educational leaders.

Registrants will have an opportunity to tour the Inventionland facility, engage in innovative team challenges to take back to their classrooms, and participate in discussions regarding innovating practices in the classroom. We encourage you to visit again even if you have attended this event! We keep it fresh by switching up activities and discussion topics for networking time.

RML Ignite Grants
Remake Learning has received funding to issue 100, $1,000 grants in 2019. While the application does not open until March 18 (closes April 8), they wanted to give provide a heads-up to start thinking about where $1,000 can be most useful.
These grants are meant for:
the humble, everyday needs of an organization such as materials/equipment, snacks, teacher payment, space etc.
supporting your passion, ideas, and deep partnership with young people.
thanking you for your continued support of the development of children in our region!
You are encouraged to think about what is most engaging, relevant, and equitable in a time of rapid social and technological change. How does your idea fit in this box?

Attend Health + Wellness PD at Lemieux Sports Complex
Together with the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation, Rite-Aid Foundation, and the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, EVERFI has launched a digital prevention education resource, along with a suite of Health + Wellness tools available to Western PA schools free of cost, focused on elevating the student voice and kick-starting critical conversations at home and school.
Everfi cordially invites an educator from your district to join high school educators from across Western Pennsylvania for a unique professional development opportunity at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex on Thursday, March 21st from 9 am -12 pm to learn about these blended learning resources, implementation practices, and community partnerships with the DEA, FBI, and local educators. Camp Tech Dates Released
Camp Tech is for students entering 3rd-8th grade in the fall of 2019. We will be offering a discounted price to families, first student remains $175, each additional student will be $140 (discount ONLY apply to students within the same household.)
Online registration will open late March and you will receive more information on how to register and sessions that will be offered closer to March.
IU1 Camp Tech is scheduled at the following locations:
North Strabane Intermediate (Canon-Mac SD) – July 15th - 19th
W&J College - July 22nd - 26th
Waynesburg University, Main Campus - August 5th -9th
Registration fills up extremely fast and is limited to 48 students per location (first come first serve basis), so please mark your calendar to register early to ensure a place for your camper. Students must attend all day. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
