PDE is required to compile and post statewide data, but there are no plans to disaggregate by school/IU/county etc…

    The dates of the data will appear in the “grid”. 

    Districts are worried that the public may not realize that the data was from a school year where districts may not have been in session for the full year.  

   There will be additional explanatory text, but we haven’t finalized the design.

 The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) recognizes outstanding K-6 science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers. This year's awards will honor science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and/or computer science teachers working in grades K-6. Nominations are open now and close January 7, 2022.  All nominated teachers receive an email inviting them to begin the application process; applications must be completed by February 6, 2022.

PDESAS Update 

The Assessment Center has recently changed.  The state has added a Checking for Understanding, which produces a URL to provide for students.  All new PSSA and Keystone released items have been added to the assessment center.

Workshops for Administrators/Curriculum Coordinators


Open discussion on Assessment, Data, and Online Solutions - December 15th from 1 - 3:00 PM.  Nathan Howell will be here from edInsight (OnHand Schools) to listen and give some solutions to the issues that districts are having.

There will be a virtual IU1 School Counselor Meeting in December.  Topics we will discuss will include, Open Discussion, SEL, ACT 158 Q&A and Tracking Tools, Mental Health discussions, Career topics and more.

Art Careers - at your school

February 8, 2022 | For High School Grades 9-12

Design Focus: 8:45am - 11:35am

Artistic & Admin Focus: 11:45am - 2:35pm

$150 per school group | Hybrid, from your School


During this session, your school group will join a zoom meeting from your classroom/auditorium and rotate between three different sessions exploring one focus area – theatrical design or artistic & arts administration. In addition to the professional artists joining the class virtually, a Trust Teaching Artist will come to your school to help facilitate in person, as well as bring physical materials to use in the session.

Byham Theater

In this popular program, participants will work with theater professionals, rotating through four different workshops in the Byham Theater over the course of the day, exploring various non-performance arts disciplines. This program is ideal for school groups of students participating in their school musicals and provides insight into the theatre profession.


Your school will be placed into four of the following: Lighting Design, Sound Design, Costume Design, Scenic Design, Show Marketing, Playwriting, Directing

Arts EXCURSIONS workshops are back!

STEAM DAYS begin with rotating workshops where you will learn foundational concepts and terms from Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

Patterns of Pride: A Celebration of African-American Arts and Culture begins with a musical call and response to establish a supportive sense of community and cultivate positive energy.

Both Patterns of Pride and STEAM DAYS can take place either at your school or in our Education Center, 807 Liberty Avenue.
