NAB has sunsetted the Velocity processing platform and all merchants are now being boarded on EPX Direct. As a result, merchants who are currently processing on Velocity will be forced to migrate to the EPX Direct platform or their processing accounts may be forcibly closed or migrated.
Chip Readers: Refer to the Hotsauce EPX Migration Merchant List for a merchant’s evs/emv status. For accounts that do not have chip readers and are processing evs only, we highly recommend the merchant/agent order chip readers in order to process on EPX. To order chip readers, coordinate with the merchant, agent/ISO, and NAB.
EVS/Swipe: As of 7.3.0.2, we do have a swipe solution for EPX Direct. In order to set a merchant on EPX Direct swipe, please notify a manager and they will reach out to NAB to get the merchant set up. Again we should always recommend a merchant use chip readers if they are able to.
POS Terminals: For older merchants, we need to ensure that their POS stations are either the SP600, SP550, or G4 terminal. HS2900 terminals and older will not function properly on the latest version of Hotsauce.
If a merchant’s equipment is too old, we will have to let them know that they will need to upgrade their hardware.
Typically these merchants are our older full purchase merchants. If they are, we can always refer them to Grace or Dan to see if we can’t work out a deal with them to reduce the cost of a full upgrade.
