To configure Credit Cards/eCards, start by clicking on the "Credit Cards/eCards Setup" button. This will open the respective dialog box for setup.

**EMV:** Stands for Europay, Mastercard, and Visa. It's a global standard using chip cards for secure credit card processing.

**EVS:** Electronic Verification System. It verifies information, adding security, especially in card-not-present transactions.

The "Processing Company" refers to the service provider handling credit card transactions, such as Visa Net, First Data, or EPX.

Access to the credit card merchant setup, involving security measures, requires a password for any modifications.

Indicate the payment server path, usually set as C:\Hotsauce\EVS, for the processing of Credit Cards.

Set the cut-off year, which is the earliest year used for comparing credit card expiration dates. Typically, this number is adjusted only once per century.

Specify the percentage of tips that will be withheld from wait-staff for all credit card tips, if applicable. This feature may be utilized to recover charges incurred by the store during credit card transactions.

This feature is used for credit card amounts where a signature is not required.

The Default Pre Auth Amount is the designated amount used when pre-authorizing a credit card to ensure it has sufficient credit to cover the bill.

The "Print Pre-Auth Receipt" option enables the printing of the Pre-Auth receipt after a credit card pre-authorization.

The "Number Of Credit card Vouchers" setting allows you to specify how many vouchers the POS will print for credit card transactions. These vouchers typically include space for the customer's signature and tip calculation.

The "Print Vouchers when signature not required" option is typically set to "N" for "No." This means that vouchers won't be printed when a signature is not required for credit card transactions.

The "Must Declare All Credit Card Tips" option, if applicable, specifies whether the wait staff must declare a minimum of all credit card tips upon clocking out.

The "Allow offline transactions" option enables you to put the system in offline mode in case your internet and backup modem are not functioning.

Checking the "Check for duplicate trx" box prevents a credit card or gift card from being used more than once in a business day. Manager approval is required if the card is used again on the same day.

Enabling the "Allow Swipe card to Create Tab" option allows the creation of a tab by swiping the credit card on the POS's MSR reader. The tab is named based on the information from the credit card.

Enabling "Enable EMV Tabs" allows the system to capture cards with EMV chip readers.

When "Automatically enter Zero tip" is checked, tips will be automatically set as $0. Any tip adjustments must be made using the change tip function in the BackOffice. This feature is useful in retail environments.

"Enable TransIT" is used to accept the Multipass/TransIT file builds on TSYS file builds for chip readers on PAX. This functionality enables the system to handle open tabs efficiently.

Enable Force Transaction does not work any more make sure is turn off at all times

The "Auto Settle Batch" feature is used to automate the settlement process for credit card transactions. It requires a specified time, usually after the restaurant has closed and employees have added credit card tips, checked out, and clocked out. The automatic employee clock-out function is contingent on employees completing the necessary steps, including adding tips and checking out. If these steps are not followed, the batch will fail, triggering an email notification explaining the failure reason. In the case of a successful batch, an email will be sent, detailing the batch amount.

Certainly! The Processing Fee Type offers two options:

1. **Percentage:** This option charges a percentage of the total amount as the processing fee.

2. **Dollar:** This option charges a flat rate per transaction.

If you prefer to disable this feature, simply set it to "NONE".

Processing Fee Amount: 

Enter either a percentage or a fixed dollar amount based on the previously set fee type.  If the fee type is set to a percentage, entering 3.50 will charge a 3.50% fee on the transaction. If the fee type is set to a dollar, entering 3.50 will charge a flat $3.50 fee on the transaction. Adjust the value accordingly based on your fee type and preferences.

**Fee Display in FOH:**

 The fee amount configured in the BackOffice (BOH) will be displayed in the Front of House (FOH) during a credit card transaction, in addition to the tax.

 The configured fee, whether a percentage or a fixed dollar amount, will be visibly presented to the customer during the payment process in the FOH when using a credit card transaction. This provides transparency regarding the additional cost associated with the transaction. Adjust the fee settings in the BOH as needed for your business requirements.

 **Fee Program as Discount:**

 When the Fee Program is set as a discount, customers paying with a credit card will be charged the full amount of the bill plus tax. However, for cash payments, a discount equivalent to the configured percentage or amount will be applied to the total bill.

This setting allows flexibility in applying discounts based on the payment method. Customers paying with cash will benefit from the configured discount, promoting cash transactions. Adjust the discount settings in the BOH to align with your business preferences.

**Fee Display on Receipt:**

This setting determines how the processing fee will be displayed on the customer receipt.  Customize the way the processing fee appears on the receipt, ensuring transparency and clarity for customers regarding additional charges associated with their payment method. Adjust the display format in accordance with your business preferences through the BOH settings.

 **Total Display on the Receipt:**

This setting determines how the total amount is displayed on the customer receipt when processing fees are enabled. When "Non-Cash" is specified, the receipt will differentiate between the cash total and the non-cash total, providing a clear breakdown of the transaction details.

 Customize the receipt format to distinguish between cash and non-cash totals, enhancing transparency for customers and facilitating accurate record-keeping for your business. Adjust the display according to your preferences through the BOH settings.

 **Tax Applied to Fee:**

 This setting determines whether the processing fee is subject to taxation, particularly relevant in states where taxing processing fees is required. The dropdown menu provides a list of available taxes in the system, allowing you to specify the applicable tax for the fee. Opting for "NONE" means the fee won't be taxed.

  - **Do Not Print Cash Total on Guest Check:**

 If checked, the system will refrain from printing the cash total on the guest check.

  Typically left unchanged unless explicitly instructed by the merchant via email.

  - **Do Not Print CC Fee on Guest Check:**

 When checked, the system avoids printing the credit card fee total on guest checks. However, the fee must still be displayed somewhere within the store.

 Generally, this remains unchecked to ensure transparency for customers. Changes in this setting usually require merchant authorization via email. Adjust as per specific merchant instructions.

**Fee Program - Dual Price:** This option operates with two different prices, allowing distinct pricing for credit card and cash transactions.

- **Application:** - If a customer pays with a credit card, the transaction includes the regular price plus the processing fee.

  - If the payment is made with cash, the amount is will not have the fee included.

Certainly! In the Front of House (FOH) system, the display shows both the Credit Card Price and the Cash Price for transparency in transactions. Here's how it typically works:

1. **Credit Card Price:** - This is the amount the customer will pay if they choose to pay with a credit card. It includes the original item price, any applicable taxes, and the processing fee.

2. **Cash Price:** - This is the amount the customer will pay if they choose to pay with cash.  It includes the original item price and any applicable taxes, but it excludes the processing fee.

These two prices are displayed to the cashier or customer during the payment process, allowing them to see the breakdown of costs for both payment methods. It provides transparency and helps customers make informed decisions about their preferred payment method.

The Device Configuration feature enables the configuration of settings for chip readers, including IP addresses and processors. To access this feature, click the corresponding button. If prompted for a password and you don't have it, please consult your manager for assistance.

Setting up the Device ID is crucial for configuring Chip readers (EMV). This ID determines the device's number in both the HotSauce INI file and the A920 INI file. It enables seamless communication between the POS and the specified device.

The "Device Type" setting is employed to identify the specific type of device being used, such as PAX, EPX, or A920. This information is crucial for proper communication and integration with the designated device during the configuration process.

In the setup for Chip readers (EMV), the "Name," "Display Name," and "Description" typically share the same value. These values increment by one for each device, connecting with POS stations. For example, EMV1 corresponds to POS1, EMV2 to POS2, and so forth. Servers usually have the highest EMV number.

Additionally, for A920 devices, the name convention is "mobile1" for the first A920, and it increments based on the number of A920 devices the merchant possesses.

The "IP Address" configuration is crucial for Chip readers (EMV). It's recommended to set the IP addresses in a structured manner, such as having EMV1 end with 131, EMV2 with 132, and so on, incrementing by one. Servers usually have the highest IP. It's essential that the Chip readers' IP matches the configured IP in the device, as specified in the EMV device configuration.

For A920 (mobile) devices, the IP does not necessarily need to match, and any available IP can be added.

The "Port Number" setting is processor-specific. For Tsys, the recommended port number is 10009, while for EPX, it is typically set to 6200. It's important to configure the correct port number based on the processor being used.

If the "Print Receipt" option is checked, the system will print a receipt after completing a credit card transaction. The "Accept Tips" option should be checked if the processor has configured the chip reader to handle tips directly within the credit card machine, eliminating the need for tips on the credit card voucher.
