Beginning today at 3pm and running until 8:24am on January 8th, students and staff have a two week break to enjoy a combination of any or all of family, friends, feasting and frivolity.

In Alberta, many post-secondary institutions open their applications on October 1, 2023. You will need an Apply Alberta account to apply. Follow this link for how to create a login account! You will also need a MyAlberta account.
You will need this to apply to Alberta University of the Arts, Ambrose University, Athabasca University, Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, Bow Valley College, Burman University, Concordia University in Edmonton, Keyano College, The King's University, Lakeland College, Lethbridge College, MacEwan University, Medicine Hat College, Mount Royal University, NAIT, NorQuest College, Northern Lakes College, Northwestern Polytechnic, Olds College, Portage College, Red Deer Polytechnic, SAIT, St. Mary's, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, or the University of Lethbridge!
You will need your Alberta Student Number (ASN) to get an Apply Alberta account. Get this while you are at school during the week!
Remember - applying costs money (from $50-$150 per institution).
Pay attention to open dates and deadlines, but also remember programs CAN fill before the deadline (particularly in first qualified, first accepted programs)! Get in early to increase your chances of acceptance,
Pro Tip: Appply to multiple programs at a single institution to increase your chances of acceptance.
Vaping is of particular concern, not only at our school but in schools across the world. Our hope is that together with parents and other stakeholders we can increase knowledge of the effects of vaping and, by doing so, reduce their consumption

Terry Fox Run

For the 16th consecutive year, Thorsby Junior Senior High School participated in the Terry Fox Run. Donations will be accepted until Friday, October 13!
School Goal: $1000.00
If students raise $500, Mr. Proc will either wear a toupee or shave handlebars.
If students raise the full $1000, Mr. Heise will get a pie in the face!

We wil once again be offering Subway subs on Wednesdays this year. Orders and money are due on the Monday prior at 10:00 am. Subs are $5.50 and can be purchased at the Office or online.. Our next Sub order will be on October 4 so orders are due October 2
We are fortunate to be able to participate in the Hot Lunch program with the Elementary School. Individual entres are $4. Students can also purchase groups of Hot Lunch tickets online..

Welcome to a brand new school year! We are so excited to see your smiling faces again.
We can help you with so much in the Office. Mrs. McLeod can help you with your lockers, your classes, and so much more. Mrs. Raugust will help you with fees and forms. She is also in the Library, so she can help with textbooks and novels.
Mrs. McLeod has been busy planning Ski Club for this winter! She has booked all of the dates for ski nights and for the Ski trip to Marmot Basin in March. Check out the days here. All levels of skiers are welcome to come out!
