Principal's Report
Look at all those dates!
I thought the start of the year was chock-full, but the next month at Thorsby Junior Senior High is even busier!
With all the upcoming dates I'm sure all the kids are right on top of making you aware of forms that need to be signed virtually, or otherwise, and returned. In the unlikely event that they are not, it might be a good idea to run through these dates on the off-chance a form is metaphorically crumpled in the bottom of their bag.
Outside that, our basketball season is winding up over the next week or so, and we'll be moving on to badminton. We'll also be making use of our local handball expert, Dakota Heise, who's going to introduce it to our students and show them what the 30 million players worldwide are all talking about.
Enjoy the Family Day long weekend!
The Sherwood Park Elks have numerous dates over the coming months whereby grads can access free gowns and suits.
Do you have a dress or suit collecting dust that you don't know what to do with? They also take donations on the days of these events!
Make sure you bring in your loonies and toonies on Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23 to buy some fresh baked goodiess provided by the members of our Travel Club
Check out some pictures from our Semester 1 Shop Classes.
Our Ski Club has been getting ready for their trip to Marmot Basin in March. Here are a few pictures of the fun at Rabbit Hill
On Thursday, February 15, Elder Marty Fernie came to talk to the Social 10 and ELA 9 classes. He spoke about the impact of globalization on Indigenous cultures and tradition.

Vaping is of particular concern, not only at our school but in schools across the world. Our hope is that together with parents and other stakeholders we can increase knowledge of the effects of vaping and, by doing so, reduce their consumption
I have included links to several resources below as well as a link to our statement of fair notice regarding the consequences for failing to adhere to the rules related to illegal substances I have outlined above.
