November 28-29: Grad Photos (see booking information below)
December 4: Professional Learning Day (No Classes)
December 4: Christmas Elves Donations Due
Holiday Theme Days are coming!
I hope this Principal's report finds you well.
We're back at it and on the run up to Christmas. With quarter 1 finished we're looking ahead to the second half of the first semester.
In January, our grade 12 students will write their first Alberta Provincial Diploma exams (now worth 30%) and our grade 10 students will have the opportunity to gain their first high school credits.
Of note is that, even though for these grade 10 students graduation is still 2.5 years away, the marks they, and the grade 11 and 12 students get, will go towards the Rutherford Scholarship money they can be awarded when they graduate. Of course our junior high students will have mid-term exams as well which are part of their preparation for these larger exams in their future.
In short, it's worth looking ahead to these big pieces of assessment not only as a focus for the course, but as an opportunity to put in some work their future selves (if not their current selves) will appreciate.
Talk to you next week.

Seniors spent two classes baking their own cakes and decorating them!
It has been an excellent season for the Senior Girls Volleyball team. Our team may be small in numbers but the perseverance and determination was not lacking. During the season the girls demonstrated grit and tenacity. They had a successful season and were consistent placing second in the Calmar tournament, our league, and a silver medal at Zones. I am proud of each individual on our team and have thoroughly enjoyed the year. I wish our graduates; Stefanie, Tyra, Marley and Sofia nothing but the best in their future endeavors. Thank you for a great season girls!
The Junior High Foods class made perogies this week. They then compared home made to storebought

Vaping is of particular concern, not only at our school but in schools across the world. Our hope is that together with parents and other stakeholders we can increase knowledge of the effects of vaping and, by doing so, reduce their consumption
I have included links to several resources below as well as a link to our statement of fair notice regarding the consequences for failing to adhere to the rules related to illegal substances I have outlined above.
