Principal's Message

The students' future is now!

This week our students got to go to Skills Alberta at the Edmonton Expo centre. While they were there they got to interact with almost all of the careers to be found in Alberta trades, the military, and health services.

Often as teachers we get asked "what's all this for" and we give answers that, while true, are abstractions. Going to this event and getting to talk with people who actually work in the fields they're interested in and see exactly what they do is tremendously beneficial for making connections to what they study in school.

It was also great fun, which is evident in the photos below!

Gowns for Good

A Beaumont Outreach Initiative for all Black Gold Students

Exciting news! Black Gold Outreach is opening up bookings for "Gowns for Good" to current Grade 11's (to get ready for grad next year!) or any Grade 12's who still require grad attire for this year. Our amazing Beaumont community has donated over 100 grad dresses! Book a 15 minute time slot to come browse our selection of gowns, jewelry, shoes and a limited number of suits. We will be in the Beaumont Outreach, which is in the basement of the Community Centre across from Bellevue School. All grad items are free to help remove barriers to you having the grad of your dreams! If you would like to donate an item for the Food Bank to give back, we will have a donation bin.

Health and Safety in Our School

Vaping is of particular concern, not only at our school but in schools across the world. Our hope is that together with parents and other stakeholders we can increase knowledge of the effects of vaping and,  by doing so, reduce their consumption

I have included links to several resources below as well as a link to our statement of fair notice regarding the consequences for failing to adhere to the rules related to illegal substances I have outlined above.
