This week in 3A, the class explored the world of similes through a fun and creative "Monster Simile Poem" project! Over three days, the students learned to use similes to make their writing more descriptive and expressive. We started by introducing similes and practicing creating our own, then moved on to planning and writing poems that described unique, friendly monsters with clever comparisons. The students drew their monster pictures and wrote their poems below, bringing each creation to life with both words and art. I hope you enjoyed viewing the Monster Similie Poems during parent-teacher conferences!
Ms. Hailey from Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) visited our class this week to continue the "Kindness in the Classroom" program. She led a discussion on responsibility and self-discipline, asking thoughtful questions like, "How do our choices affect our responsibilities?" and "How can our actions (or inaction) impact others?" The students also completed a personal responsibility reflection to help them think about their role in supporting a positive and caring classroom environment. This session gave us great insights into how our actions shape our community!
Congratulations to our 3A friends who flew to the next country by reading 500 minutes in our Amazing Race home reading program. Well done 3A readers!
