This week we reviewed the five parts of a friendly letter - heading, greeting, body, closing and signature. They then applied their new skills by writing letters to Santa. The letters have been mailed to the North Pole and the students are eagerly awaiting Santa's reply. The students' letters can be found in Google Classroom if you are interested in taking a peek!
On Thursday our class had an amazing trip to the TELUS World of Science, exploring the Space, Science Garage, and Health Zone exhibits. In the Chilling Out Classroom, students designed ulu knives, tested insulation with animal hides, created inukshuks, and watched a liquid nitrogen demonstration that ended with a "cool" treat. At Climate Quest, they explored climate science through hands-on activities like greenhouse gas models and carbon capture pinball. We ended the day with the IMAX film To the Arctic, highlighting the importance of protecting our planet. A big thank you to the volunteers who made this day possible!

This week, the students created beautiful poinsettia flowers inspired by the story Zetta the Poinsettia. Using a sponge painting technique, they carefully dabbed red and pink paint to form the petals and green for the leaves. To complete their flowers, the students used Q-tips to add yellow to the centers and added a touch of glitter for sparkle. The students did an excellent job bringing their poinsettias to life, and their artwork turned out vibrant and festive, capturing the holiday spirit beautifully.
