WHOLE SCHOOL
WHOLE SCHOOL
Dear GJS Community Members,
We are in the full-blown run-up to the end of Term 3! Thank you to the efforts of our dedicated faculty, inquisitive and engaged students, and supportive parents, we continue to host days of significance, presentations, exhibitions and assemblies where our students are showcasing their agency, inquiry, and deeper learning. Please see below for the notifications of the upcoming special events, including our Primary Years Programme Exhibition and Whole School Mid Semester Conferences. We look forward to seeing our community members on campus participating, celebrating, and reflecting on the achievements of our students.
Warm regards,
Cory Carson, Head of School
PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dear Primary Parents,
This week, we witnessed our students partake in many activities. Year 5 carried out their excellent MUN Debate, Year 3 hosted their second assembly, and the rest of the primary school engaged in various activities to celebrate International Mother Language Day. International Mother Language Day promotes linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. In an environment such as ours, where we pride ourselves on dual-language education, we pause and honor the linguistic heritage of each student, recognizing the importance of preserving and celebrating their mother tongues.
Next week, our Year 6 students embark on their culminating Primary Years Programme Exhibition (PYPX), where they will showcase their extensive research, critical thinking skills, and collaborative efforts on topics of personal interest and global significance. We invite all our parents to come and support our Year 6 students.
Kind Regards,
Lavesa Devnani, Primary Principal
Year 3 parents are invited to come the Year 3 Mini Expo on Energy and Science.

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dear Global Jaya Secondary Community,
With MSCs taking place in two weeks time, I encourage our parent community to sign up for a time to visit with each of your child's teachers. At MSCs, our teachers will focus on two areas: one, they will facilitate reflective conversations with the students about their progress towards the goals established in each subject area; two, our teachers will review with you the student's performance on at least one summative from term 3. More importantly, the MSCs are a great opportunity for parents to develop an understanding of their child's academic progress at our halfway point through semester two. As part of these conversations, parents are encouraged to ask for ways to support their students at home so that the students can have a successful finish to the academic year. Finally, if you have not been able to schedule MSC appointments, then please contact our secretaries for support at the following email: (adminassistants@globaljaya.com).
Sincerely,
Dr. Howard Menand, Secondary Principal

University Counselling Reminder
Dear Year 11 Students,
As mentioned during the Year 11 University Session on Friday, 16 February 2024 after school, one of the documents you need to prepare for our 1on1 University Meeting is the AchieveWorks Personality assessments in the CIALFO. Global Jaya School has been using CIALFO, a platform for university exploration, research, and application, and I saw that all of you already have the account but have not done much to it.
To remind you about the CIALFO features (as you will need them), we will have a CIALFO Student (re)Launch Session on:
When? Friday, 1 March 2024 @ YLM 07.30-08.25 AM
Where? Place: MPR 3
Get your gadgets (laptops) fully charged, and see you in the session.
Bu Di
University Counsellor
Proudly celebrating our students' achievements:
On Friday, we experienced great collaboration and engagement with our students as we celebrated Indonesian Day.
It was wonderful to listen to our faculty serenade our students with songs from their home countries on International Mother Language Day celebrated this past Wednesday.
