WHOLE SCHOOL
WHOLE SCHOOL
Dear GJS Community Members,
I would like to take this opportunity to extend belated congratulations to Ibu Abigail, Ibu Muti, Pak Santosa, Ibu Vira, Pak Peter and Ibu Widy, along with all the supporting faculty and student leaders who led the charge on the House Arts Competition last week. Seeing the absolute creativity and risk-taking behaviours far outweighed the competitive nature of the head-to-head house points battle. Congratulations to all participants and event winners.
A further thank you is also due to Ibu Julya, Ibu Eun-Hee, Ibu Reni, Pak Ali, Pak Irwan and Pak Song, our ASA students from Korean, Mandarin and Taekwondo, Alumni participants, our Parents Association leaders and participants and all the Lunar Baazar vendors who helped ignite our campus with red and gold excitement, activity and celebration; Lunar New Year was a resounding success. Congratulations, and again, thank you to all the organisers, performers and vendors! May 2024 - the Year of the Dragon - bestow all GJS community members with great health, unending happiness and good fortune.
Global Jaya has been asked to host a Festival of Hope event. So, whether you are a parent, student, or teacher, we need your support and commitment to host the first-ever "Festival of Hope" in Indonesia here at Global Jaya School. The Festival of Hope is an opportunity for our students to lead a community-wide event focused on promoting hope and opportunity. We seek student leaders who are passionate about Global Jaya and serving as change agents for our community. We also solicit parents and teachers to support and guide our students through this experience. Please join us on February 23 @ 3:00 pm in the GJS Theatre to learn how you can be a part of this incredible event.

On Tuesday, February 20th, please note that we will be holding our 6th professional half-day of the school year. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 noon as teachers prepare for afternoon collaborations and discussions.
PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dear Primary Parents,
This week, we witnessed our students partake in many activities. Year 5 carried out their excellent MUN Debate, Year 3 hosted their second assembly, and the rest of the primary school engaged in various activities to celebrate International Mother Language Day. International Mother Language Day promotes linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. In an environment such as ours, where we pride ourselves on dual-language education, we pause and honor the linguistic heritage of each student, recognizing the importance of preserving and celebrating their mother tongues.
Next week, our Year 6 students embark on their culminating Primary Years Programme Exhibition (PYPX), where they will showcase their extensive research, critical thinking skills, and collaborative efforts on topics of personal interest and global significance. We invite all our parents to come and support our Year 6 students.
Kind Regards,
Lavesa Devnani, Primary Principal

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dear Global Jaya Secondary Community,
We are grateful to our Global Jaya Parent Association and sponsors for supporting Tuesday's Lunar New Year celebration. The lion dance, student performances, food stalls and vendors were a great way to welcome the year of the dragon. And, to our community, I hope that the Lunar New year brings prosperity, reunion with family and friends, and joy filling your heart.
As for the rest of the week, it offered a variety of other activities including the Valentine's day celebration, Open Mic, and preparation for our boys and girls varsity basketball teams, who will play at home against ACS and AIS this weekend. I sincerely hope everyone had the opportunity to join in one or more of the events over the past week.
Sincerely,
Dr. Howard Menand, Secondary Principal
