Dear GJS Community Members,
First and foremost, thank you to our Physical Education, Athletics and Teacher organisers and supporters for making our three days of GJS Swimming Carnival such a success. Inclement weather could not dampen the spirits of our athletes and cheering parents. Congratulations to all participants and event champions.
The coming two weeks will see a number of national-level holidays as we embrace Isra Mi'raj, Lunar New Year, National Elections, and Valentine's Day. We also will have a special on-campus celebration for the Lunar New Year on February 13th. GJS Student Council has also prepared activities and opportunities for us to show the ones we love how much we love them, with Valentine's Celebration on Friday, February 15th. Check out their Instagram page @gjscouncil to support.
We look forward to seeing you on campus over the coming days, and we engage in and celebrate these activities in the coming weeks.

Dear Primary Parents,
As we step into the month of February, we are welcomed by two major holidays: the Isra Miraj holiday and the Lunar New Year. May the Isra Miraj holiday be a time of reflection, spiritual growth, and blessings for you and your loved ones. We would also like to extend our warmest wishes to all families celebrating Lunar New Year. May the Lunar New Year bring prosperity, joy, and an abundance of good fortune to your homes.
We would also like to thank our community for your support and participation in cheering our students during the Swim Carnival. Despite the unpredictable weather, we were glad to have pushed through this event.
The PTC Fast sign-up for the upcoming Mid Semester Conference will close on February 16th at 3:00 pm. If you are unable to sign up due to technical difficulties, please contact Ibu Imas in the Primary office.

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dear Global Jaya Secondary Community,
In the next two weeks, we have multiple days out of school. As such, I encourage our community to use this time to relax and recharge the batteries. At the same time, our year 12 students will be busy preparing for mock exams, which take place from February 12-26. The mock exams are an opportunity for our students to experience exam-like conditions and to receive feedback on their course progress based on the exam results. Once the year 12 students finish mock exams, our teachers will give the students guidance on how to prepare for the actual IBDP exams that will take place in April / May of this year. Finally, let me wish our year 12 students good luck on the exams.

Global Jaya has been asked to host a Festival of Hope event. The Festival of Hope is an opportunity for our students to lead a community wide event focused on promoting hope and opportunity.
On February 23rd at 3:00 pm in the Global Jaya theater, we will host an information session where students, parents, and teachers are encouraged to attend to learn more about the event and ways to help support this experience.
Overall, the Festival of Hope is a wonderful opportunity for the community and one that shines a positive light on the many amazing aspects of Global Jaya.

Nabil Balqis Abiyyunaldi (Year 7), earned 3rd place in the category of Basic Novice Girls at the Philippine National Figure Skating Championships 2023 held in Manila this past November 10-12, 2023. Congratulations, Balqis on your achievement!
Global Jaya School together with Global Jaya Parent Association, have arranged a special event to celebrate the Year of Dragon. Annual Lunar New Year celebration will be held on Tuesday, February 13th 2024, at Global Jaya School campus. The all-day festivities will start from 7:30 till noon, with activities such as Barongsai or Lion Dance performance, all schools participating in wearing Chinese inspired attire and Lunar New Year Bazaar.
Parent Association has carefully curated the chosen vendors to participate, especially for this thematic bazaar, from fashion to food and beverages. Various vendors will join this enjoyable occasion; DAPUR MAEMUN will serve their signature mie ayam along with bakso, siomay and donut kampoeng, BAKPAONYA KOKO will sell their scrumptious steamed paos, MANOGI comes with a variety of homemade coffee, dim sums and fresh vegetables, SWEETTOOTH and IBU KUKIS will also join the Bazaar with lots of baked goods choices from cookies, cupcakes and cake pops.
DAPUR RAKANA will provide choices of mojito drinks, grilled sausages, and chicken steak, HUMBLE DRINK & EATERY will have flavorful rice boxes and ice cream available to purchase. MR.BUNGEOPPANG and THE CHILLY BIN are also joining our Lunar New Year Bazaar with choices of healthy food.
For fashion brands, there will be ALICE JUDITH and SERATUS KAPAS, as well as GIRLPOWER introducing their authentic designs. BEAUTY 360 for body care products and BIOMETRIC Assessment for fingerprint analysis will also be present at the Lunar New Year Bazaar.
