PRIMARY SCHOOL
Dear Primary Parents,
It’s been a wonderful week filled with learning, creativity, and community spirit! Our Kindergarten and Reception students hosted two exciting events that brought families together to celebrate their children’s learning. Kindergarten students kicked off the week with Family Fun Day, where they performed confidently for their parents and engaged in friendly games that surely brought on lots of laughter and smiles. Meanwhile, our Reception students proudly showcased their Transportation Parade, impressing their audience with their creative transportation designs and explaining their learning through detailed Frayer Model Maps.
While our youngest students engaged in activities, our year 6 students also had an important milestone this week as they took part in their second Transition Meeting with the Secondary School team. They met with secondary leadership, a Year 7 advisor, and a counselor to learn more about the MYP, including reading schedules, moving between classrooms, and looking after their social-emotional well-being. Our students asked thoughtful questions with a lens of humor that brought energy and excitement to the session.
Next week, we look forward to welcoming families to our Mid-Semester Conferences. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate your child’s growth and learning. During your visit, we encourage you to stop by the Music and Art rooms, where students will proudly showcase their artistic creations and musical talents. Don’t forget to visit the Dance room as well, where students will demonstrate their physical education skills. We look forward to seeing our students share all the exciting learning with you.
In Gratitude,
Lavesa Devnani, Primary Principal

SECONDARY SCHOOL
Dear Global Jaya Secondary Community,
Another week of dynamic and meaningful interactions among our community members!
As our Year 7 team welcomed Year 6 students into the MYP, our DP teachers dedicated their time and effort to guiding Year 12 students through their final revisions and preparations for the IBDP exams. We kindly request your support in ensuring that our Year 12 students attend all remaining sessions, as these have been carefully designed to provide essential insights and support.
In the same way, we have begun reviewing Term 3 report data to inform planning for the final term of the school year. Looking ahead, we are also setting the foundation for new adjustments, programs, and educational enhancements for the upcoming academic year. This continuous and evolving process ensures that we deliver a high-quality teaching and learning experience.
We encourage all parents to make the most of the MSCs by engaging in meaningful conversations with teachers. These discussions play a crucial role in understanding students' strengths and the support they need to finish the school year strong. If you are experiencing any difficulties signing up, please reach out to our Secondary School Assistants, Ibu Agnes and Ibu Nina, who will be happy to help you.

Year 9 Students Gain Inspiration from MYP Personal Project Exhibition at BSJ
On Wednesday, 10 year 9 GJS students visited the MYP Personal Project at the British School Jakarta. Some highlighted exhibitions were a documentary on coral reef conservation, Beatkeepers - a CPR class, an original piano composition recital, and an informative breast cancer awareness exhibition. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to get inspired when they begin their personal project journey in August of 2025. They will share their findings with the rest of the year 9. We will be excited to see what our students produce!
GJS Represents at Yale MUN in Singapore
Yesterday, a delegation of 20 GJS students and three teachers traveled to Singapore to proudly represent our school at the Yale Model United Nations. This is an incredible opportunity for our students to engage in global discussions, sharpen their diplomacy skills, and gain valuable insights into international relations.
We are extremely proud of our students and teachers for the dedication and countless hours they have invested in preparing for this experience. Their commitment to learning and growth is truly commendable!
A huge thank you to all parents for their continuous support and to our MUN Coordinator, Ibu Rose, as well as Ibu Elzie and Pak Ali for chaperoning the students. As with everything we do at GJS, this is a true team effort.
