You must be registered for a section with seats available for all your core courses to remain eligible for graduation in your intended timeframe.
FX students can take core with
the other FX cohort or with the FXO cohort.
You can switch your core in GU Experience using add/drop/waitlists on a first-come first-serve basis no later than Friday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m., after which core switches cannot be made to allow study teams to be formed.
FXO students can take in-person core with
an FX cohort.

Due to the nature of the cohort and study team experience in the first year, only students with unique or extraordinary circumstances may Petition to change their core section(s) to another FT27 section.

You must remain registered in all core courses with your cohort unless a switch is approved by the Program Office.
For electives that are offered at the same time as your core, you can register for a different section of that elective or take it next year.
Petition Deadlines
Petitions are initially due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27 for review and processing prior to the start of registration for your class. Expect a response in 3 business days.
Otherwise, you will need to remain enrolled in your cohort's core courses when registration opens.
Core switch requests submitted after Thursday, Oct. 27 will be processed during the week of Nov. 17 through Friday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m., after which no enrollment changes will be made in core sections so study teams can be formed.
The last day to get a seat in a January ILE (Jan. 2-6) is January 2, 2026.

11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 15 (Mod 3 add/drop deadline) to try to get a last-minute seat in Mod 3 electives.
11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 20 (Mod 4 add/drop deadline) to try to get a last-minute seat in Mod 4 electives.
You will have until 11:59 p.m. ET on the first day of the March ILE.
FXO26, FXO27 & FXO28 students are automatically able to register for 6 additional overload or ILE credits as of Monday, Nov. 10, 8 a.m.
FT26, FX26, FT27, FX27, & FX28 students are automatically able to register for 6 additional overload or ILE credits as of Wednesday, Nov. 12, 8 a.m.
FX students can take up to 3 classes per module with a 3.0 cumulative GPA by the time the 3rd class starts.
FT students can take up to 6 classes per module with a 3.0 cumulative GPA by the time the 6th class starts.
FX and FXO students may take more than three courses at a time if they can document that they are not working or working on a substantially reduced schedule during the relevant module(s).
Please note that electives & ILEs are subject to cancellation through the start of the terms due to low enrollment or other factors beyond our control.
