Tiger Time News

May 20 - May 23, 2024

Principal Schilleci

Dear OCT Families,

Please register for the 2024-25 school year if you have not already. We are still missing quite a few students from our current enrollment. If you are moving or attending another school, please inform us ASAP. This helps us to hire the correct amount of staff and to create correct class lists. Thank you!

GCISD REGISTRATION FOR 2024-25 IS OPEN: Please go to www.gcisd.net/parents/registration to learn more about registration for the 2024-25 school year.

A big thank you to Mrs. Vencill and our awesome 5th Grade Students and Teachers for all the work  that they spent on creating and performing the 5th Grade Rocks performance this year. Mrs. Vencill worked with our 5th graders to write and produce their own scripts! She guides them but they create most of the performance on their own and they did a great job! They put on a very entertaining and fun performance on Thursday to finish out the year!

A huge thank you to Mrs. Whisman as well for all of her hard work and time that she spent on making sure our tigers had an awesome Career Day! It was very well organized and so much fun! Our tigers really had a great time learning about all of the different career options that they will have. And thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to come and help/present on career day! We are so grateful for you and feel very lucky to be in this awesome community that supports our school so well!

Tiger Pride,

Principal Schilleci

Every 3rd grade student will receive a copy of the book, "Bridge to Sharktooth Island" to take home and inspire more STEAM adventures!

I will be conducting inventory for the remainder of the year, so while there will be no more library lessons this month, I have invited all teachers to bring in their students for Makerspace time while I'm working on cataloging and inventory.

ALL BOOKS ARE DUE. Please check in with your child and ask if they have turned in their library books.Help your child look for any OC Taylor library books on their bookshelves, in their room or at the bottom of their backpack. Thank you!

I welcome all students to participate in my End of Year Reading Challenge. I have 2 different Bingo cards (one for Pre-K through 2nd, one for 3rd-5th) with different challenges for the students to complete. The BINGO sheets will be available in the Library for anyone to take home. If students wish to complete the challenge over the summer, they need only to bring in their completed cards the first few weeks of the new school year!
