Mirror play is a great way to help your child develop self-awareness and identifying him/herself. This is a process that can take some time! It can also be used to develop awareness of feelings and emotions in self and others. Things to try: looking in the mirror and asking "Who is that?" while pointing to your child and yourself; identifying different body parts and the senses or uses for the body parts; and imitating facial expressions for different feelings or emotions. You can look at books and pictures with your child to talk about things that make you feel a particular emotion.
Upcoming Dates and Reminders
Friday Sept. 15 is International Dot Day. We will listen to the story The Dot, about celebrating individuality and creativity. Dress your child in dots if you have them!
Thank you for making sure your child's backpack, water bottle, and lunch/snack containers are labeled with his/her name. Mix ups happen much more frequently when they are not!
Our Seesaw page is now active! You should be able to access your child's journal to see pictures, make comments, or send us messages. Let us know if you need any assistance!
