Zoo Animals

We are going to learn a little about zoo animals! We will identify them, make their sounds and move like them, talk about how they are cared for by zookeepers, and where they live in the wild.  We will count them, sort them and have songs, stories, and activities all about the zoo.

Home Extension:  The solar eclipse Monday April 8th! We are hoping for clear skies!   This is a truly amazing and exciting event.  We want to take every precaution we can to view it safely.  Our PTA is providing every student a set of glasses.  We will send a pair of glasses home with each of the kids in our morning classes, so that you can view the eclipse at home if you choose with your child.  Our full day students and our afternoon class will be at school for the event. Our plan is to discuss the importance of wearing your glasses and practice wearing them in the classroom first.  Then we will take the students out in  very small, highly supervised groups to view the eclipse.  Students who have opted out will watch the eclipse on the big screens in the building. Please be assured that we will be extra cautious about your child's safety  during this incredible phenomenon.  Here is a link to an article from the National Parks Service about how to safely view an eclipse.
