It's hard to believe we have completed a month of school!
We had a great amount of interest in the before school Run Club! Thank you to Ms. Poe and Ms. Marquez for organizing this club. Unfortunately, we couldn't invite all students to join this club, but please keep trying in the future years.
Ms. Silveira has started Photography Club once again for 5th and 6th graders. I am excited to see the creative work our student photographers will show. I will share some of their work in future newsletters.
Student Safety Patrol is starting! Thank you for your patience as we organized our student patrols. We appreciate all of the help our students will provide to keep our parking loops moving smoothly.
As we look ahead to programs that usually begin in the upcoming months, i.e.: afterschool band and Boys/Girls Basketball teams (4-6th) are being postponed to be discussed in January 2022. We are hopeful we can bring these programs back to campus soon as I understand the importance of providing these activities for our students. Stay tuned!
We are gearing up for some fun events planned over the next few weeks! Panther Prowl is back! "The Masked Panther - We're All in This Together" is scheduled for Friday, October 1st. You should have received an email with all of the instructions for registering your child for this event, fundraising information and more. This year the Panther Prowl will be a students only event, unfortunately no spectators will be allowed on campus. Please cheer your child on before school and ask how it went afterwards!
Does your child have a water bottle? We encourage students to bring their own bottle each day. The filling stations can be used to refill the bottles if they drink all of the water. If your child forgets their water bottle, you can drop it off by stopping by the office and we will label the bottle. Please help us in the office to let your child know to come and check the office if their bottle was dropped off, as it is often very busy in the morning and we might not get their bottle to their classrooms immediately.
We continue to take the safety of all students and staff very seriously. Thank you for your help of completing the home health screener daily, ensuring proper mask wearing, donations of hand sanitizer and more. As a reminder, COVID tests are available for students every Tuesday at Parkmont from 7:30-3:00 p.m. These tests are free of charge. You must register once prior to taking the test. Parents must accompany children for testing.
We try our best to keep you informed as to the most recent updates from Alameda County Public Health Department. Please understand information changes so quickly, we are doing our best to stay up to date and communicate all changes to you. Please see the updated flow chart for students linked further down the newsletter.
Stay well,
Ms. Johanna Cho

I hope the children are getting ready for the Reflections program. Remember, this is not only an art program, but a wonderful platform for students to express their perspective and thought process on the given theme. Gear up for the event. It is a competition that recognizes students at unit, council, district, state and national level. Hope to see a lot of entries this time. The students at elementary level will fall under one of the following three divisions depending on their grade level
Primary ( pre k to grade 2)
Intermediate( grade 3 to grade 5)
Middle school ( grades 6 to grade 8)
Due date: October 15th, 2021

Don't miss out! Buy your 2021-22 yearbook now! Every year we have students who miss out on their chance to have a yearbook, don't let that happen to your child! Flyer is attached with a link to purchase online!
We have been getting many complaints about parents/caregivers parking in front of driveways and the local businesses (dental offices) on Parkside Drive. Please be considerate of our neighbors' property, please park legally on the street or in any of our visitor parking spots. We are suggesting homeowners and business call the police when someone is parked illegally.
Picture day is October 7th! More information will be coming as we get closer to picture day. You can now order pictures online! All students will be photographed in order to appear in the yearbook with their class. You do NOT need to purchase any photos.
We are excited to be offering spirit wear delivered direct to your door! Follow the link and place your order today! I can't wait to see all of our Parkmont gear on our students very soon!
Student council elections will be held on 9/24 for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders only. Results will be posted on Monday, 9/27. Finalists will meet with Student Council Advisors at 10:00 a.m. recess. Final elections will be held, Tuesday October 5th.
Thank you so much to one of our Parkmont Families for donating touchless hand sanitizers to every classroom on campus! Mrs. Kelly Rose and family, your generous donation is much appreciated! If you are interested in helping supply us with refills, we will gladly accept your donation of Amazon gift cards or directly shipping refills to our school. Unfortunately, our warehouse does not supply refills and the containers are not refillable. Here is the link to purchase refills from Amazon. Thank you all for your support!
