Here we are in the final stretch! With just roughly 35 days left of school, summer will be here before we know it. The next few weeks will fly by! Many teachers are administering the 3rd Diagnostic in iReady over the the next few weeks. This is an important test for many reasons: this is the final chance for English Learners to be reclassified as Fluent English Proficient until next school year. It's also a time to celebrate! Teachers and students have been working SO hard this year, this assessment shows all of us how much our students have learned and progressed this year.
Thank you to our amazing Variety Show Coordinators who put on a fabulous Variety Show. Also a huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who helped make the Book Fair a success. The students have been so excited this week to purchase books, and more. Ms. Sayd and all of her team did a wonderful job bringing the Scholastic Book Fair back to Parkmont.
In addition to iReady assessments, 3-5th grade will begin the Smarter Balanced State Wide Assessments. Please do your best to have students at school each day and on time during your testing window.
I wish you all a restful spring break filled with fun and laughter!
Enjoy!
Ms. Johanna Cho

FUSD is putting together a parent workshop on a very important topic: The impact of Social Media on teenage brains. This workshop is geared for parents in 6-12th grade, but could definitely benefit younger students if they are using social media.
Please mark your calendars for April 28th, 6-7:30 p.m. via Zoom. See flyer for additional information
Teachers will be sending home a test kit with your child before we begin Spring Break. The intention is for your child to take a test before coming back to school on Monday, 4/25/22. If your child tests positive, please DO NOT send your child back to school. Call the office and we can provide work for your child to do while quarantining. All quarantine absences are excused absences and classwork and tests can be made up.
MAZE is Fremont Unified School District’s annual registration confirmation process in which parents/guardians:
provide required information for each enrolled student - such as emergency contacts and current proof of residency,
acknowledge certain parent/guardian and student rights and responsibilities, and
access specific school forms/information.
Completing the MAZE process ensures your student’s school has accurate information, and allows families to view student schedules/classroom assignments and their teachers when that information is released in August.
MAZE forms for all FUSD students must be completed online through the Infinite Campus (IC) Parent Portal. The window to complete the MAZE process for the 2022-23 school year is July 18 through the first day of school: August 17, 2022.
We strongly recommend that you take a few moments and log into your IC Parent Portal now to address any access issues before the MAZE window, when wait times for support may increase. Each parent/guardian should have access to all of their enrolled students through their IC Parent Portal. Click here for IC Parent Portal troubleshooting and support.
Throughout the summer, parents/guardians will receive updated MAZE information at the email address indicated in the IC Parent Portal, and updates will be posted to both the FUSD and school websites.
Please continue to update information as needed throughout the school year with your school office; having current contact information is vital in the case of an emergency. Please also note that parents/guardians must notify their student’s school WITHIN 5 SCHOOL DAYS of changes to a student’s address (AR 5111.1). Click here to view more information on change of residency.
FUSD is currently enrolling students for 2022-23 at www.fremont.k12.ca.us/enrollment. The first day of school is August 17, 2022.
Eligibility for transitional kindergarten (TK) is expanding: children who will be 5 years old between September 2, 2022 and February 2, 2023 can enroll in this free program for 2022-23 to get a head start in school and build their social, communication and independence skills.
Volunteers May Return to Campus March 1, 2022
Starting March 1, 2022, volunteers will be able to enter FUSD facilities after meeting the following criteria:
Volunteers must have approval of principal/designee and teacher to enter a classroom.
Volunteers must provide valid photo identification.
Per FUSD Board of Education action on February 9, 2022:
Only one volunteer per classroom is allowed on campus at a time.
Volunteers must complete a health/symptom screener.
Volunteers must provide proof of vaccination:
Per Alameda County Public Health (ACPH), people are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as J & J. The vaccines must be authorized either by the Food and Drug Administration or World Health Organization.
Find more information about providing proof of vaccination status per ACPH: English | Spanish | Chinese
