Volume 3 (20-21)

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

This week I will move my son into the University of Oregon. While I am extremely proud of him, I am also mourning the fact that my baby is moving away. I agree that 2020 has brought us so many challenges, but it has also made us pause, and brought us some positives. The silver lining for me has been increased family time. I'm not sure I would have had the privilege of spending so much time with my kids had life gone on as normal last March. The time we have with our kids goes lightning fast! I can vividly remember working with my boys on homework and school projects, reading bedtime stories and hearing about all the new things they were learning in class. Savor this time together, life will be back to being busy soon.

Next week, we will participate in our first Virtual Panther Prowl! Once you've registered for the distance of your choice we hope you will have a blast running, walking, rolling with your family. We have had some inquiries about using the Parkmont Track for the Panther Prowl. We would discourage you from coming to Parkmont as we cannot control the number of people who could be on campus after school hours. It would not be safe for numerous children and families to be using the track at the same time. We can't wait to see all of the pictures you send of your students and families raising money for Parkmont! Please send pictures to: yearbookatparkmont@gmail.com with the grade/teacher name of your child or, parkmontelementary2020@sfly.com with the subject title "teacher name_grade".

Thank you all in advance for your generous Panther Prowl donations that will go directly to our students and their classrooms!

Sincerely,

Ms. Johanna Cho

Principal
