Hello Parkmont Families,
I know that the uncertainty of our world right now may be stressful for you and our students. Despite the outcome of this election season, it is our main priority to keep our students at the forefront.
As we look ahead to Parent Teacher Conferences, we are eager to discuss your child's progress to date. While our conferences may look and feel a little different, it is still a time to ask questions, discuss ways to support your child and have some dedicated time to speak with your child's teacher. In order to make your conference most effective, please plan to attend your conference a few minutes early, plan for tech issues, if you are early you will simply wait in the "waiting room". Please respect your teacher's time when it is time to wrap up. There are often times conferences scheduled back to back.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you, all of the parents and caregivers who are helping your children at home. Our teachers are working so hard to deliver meaningful instruction and we know that it takes some help at home from you to make our children successful. Together we make a great team!
Sincerely,
Ms. Johanna Cho

Our Specialists (PE, Science and Computers) will be available to meet with you during Parent Teacher Conference Week 11/16-11/20. Please see their schedule for specific dates/times. If you would like to secure some individual time, please email them requesting an individual conference:
Mr. Accurso (PE): baccurso@fusdk12.net
Mrs. Lambert (PE): nlambert@fusdk12.net
Mrs. Dhillon (Science): jdhillon@fusdk12.net
Mr. Galindo (Computers): dgalindo@fusdk12.net
As a reminder, student report cards will be uploaded and available to parents beginning 11/23/20. Please make sure you remember how to access the Parent Portal because there will be no assistance available during the Thanksgiving Break. You have already accessed your Parent Portal when you registered for Maze Day. Please reach out to Ms. Sanchez (psanchez@fusdk12.net) in the Parkmont Office prior to 11/20 if you need assistance accessing your Parent Portal.
Please remind your child to turn off the chromebook completely by pressing the power button or clicking "shut down" at the bottom of the page. Closing the screen does NOT turn off the chromebook, it just puts the device to "sleep". Shutting down the computers daily makes sure no programs/websites are running in the background. This can help with Zoom/Google Meet connectivity as well.
There were no problems counting OUR votes! Congratulations to all of the winners and we look forward to working closely with our Student Council Cabinet to make this a great year at Parkmont!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Panther Family Challenge. It was so much fun seeing all of the hand painted rocks. I bet those that found them felt so special and lucky!!
This month's Panther Family Challenge is here! "You've Been Gobbled"!
Print out OR make your own sign. You will be secretly delivering a fun Thanksgiving message to a friend/neighbor and hopefully they will pass it on to someone new.
Some ideas for treats might include: A handmade Thanksgiving card, cookies, stickers, a coloring book, etc.
Take a Flipgrid video of yourself delivering your "You've been gobbled" treats to your neighbor/friend, but don't get caught!
All those that participate and upload your video will be entered for a chance to win a Target giftcard!
Challenge ends November 27th.
Just a few pictures of our winners receiving their prize from Ms. Cho! Vardhan, Sami/Adam, and Jasmine! Thanks for participating everyone! I hope you will join in the November Challenge!
As we move into the second trimester, there will be a variety of items that your child will need for their Physical Education Lessons. Many pieces of equipment that they will be using can be made from household items at little or no cost. Please make sure your child has their complete P.E. kit made and on hand by November 16th, 2020. The kit should be kept in a location so that it is easily accessible by your child during the given unit. Below are a list of items needed and the corresponding video on how to make it.
Although your child may have access to actual equipment, keep in mind they will be doing activities in the house and these homemade items are less likely to be problematic indoors.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to your child’s growth and development.

You may be wondering why the back gate has been locked. Unfortunately, there have been many incidents where there are people on campus who are being very disrespectful to our night custodians and behaving in a very dangerous manner. In addition, many of our neighboring school sites are suffering large amounts of vandalism costing thousands of dollars in repair. We will be keeping the back gate locked until it is deemed that in person learning will resume. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes you and thank you for your understanding in trying to keep my staff and campus safe.
Free lunches for any child ages 2-18 are available daily from 11:30-1 p.m. in front of the Parkmont Library. Students do not need to be present.
Please find some information about Meal Applications and why we need families to complete these forms. Meal Applications also available in Spanish and Chinese.
We send communications weekly to keep you up to date.
Reminder Emails are typically sent each Monday. Every other Friday we send our school Newsletter. Check your spam if you are not receiving emails from us. Occasionally, we will send a phone call message to our families. Please listen to the entire message.
