Next Friday, 10/30 is a short day for grades 1st-6th. This would have been the day we hold our traditional Halloween Parade. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, I usually spend months ahead planning our costumes here in the office. Hopefully you and your family will be able celebrate Halloween safely this year. Check out how we will celebrate virtually this year at Parkmont. I'll be excited for us to bring this tradition back next school year!
In the next few weeks you will start to hear from your teachers about scheduling Parent Teacher Conferences. Please be sure to set some time aside to meet, ask questions and discuss your child's progress so far.
I wish you continued good health and safety.
Sincerely,
Ms. Cho

This year we will hold a virtual Halloween celebration. I hope this will be our one and ONLY virtual Halloween celebration we ever have to hold! There are a few ways to participate! Take a video of your student in their Halloween costume and upload to Flipgrid (remember students need to log in using their Google accounts to access Flipgrid). Next, on Friday, 10/30 during lunch time Ms. Cho will be holding a Halloween Bingo Game! You can play along at home if you'd like. Space will be limited, unfortunately we have limitations on the number of participants. We will begin promptly at 12:10 p.m. Zoom link found here. Download your Bingo Cards here, print a few to play. You can use coins as chips to mark your bingo spots. This is just for fun. Your prize is bragging rights at Parkmont's FIRST Virtual Halloween Bingo Game.
Our Photography Club's newest assignment: Macro photography and B&W photography. Take a look at some work from our talented student photographers!
FAME – Fine Arts and Mini Experience
FAME is sponsored by Parkmont PTA and planning to do this program through Zoom this year. Parkmont PTA is looking for Parent volunteers. No art or music training is required. We provide the background, lesson materials and props necessary to present fun and engaging lessons. If you are interested, please send an email to "fame.parkmont@gmail.com"
What do kids learn? - They learn about basic elements of music like Melody, Rhythm, Harmony and Dynamics and basic elements of art like Color, Texture, Lines and Shadow. Each FAME session will have an art activity and kids will get a chance to practice what they learn during the FAME session.
We need a few more parent docents. The few docents we have will NOT be able to reach all of the classes that are interested in having this program. Please consider volunteering!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Panther Prowl this year! This year has definitely been a challenge! But despite all of the challenges, our teachers are still teaching every day and providing our children with a rich educational experience each day! We are still accepting donations through 10/30. Please remember 100% of funds raised, go directly to OUR kids. No amount is too small, every little bit helps! Please find information on how to donate here.
If you were unable to pick up your child's Panther Prowl t-shirt last week, please email Mrs. Sanchez to arrange a time to pick up your shirt. Some teachers who are planning on passing out materials next week have already picked up their shirts and will distribute those to students. If your teacher is not planning a pick up then we likely have your shirt in the office.
